Frequently Asked Questions

1.Why should I invest in eyelash extensions?

• No need for mascara and other messy eye makeup • Enhances the eyes making you look even more beautiful • You can swim and workout with them • No need for an eyelash curler • Does not damage the natural lash • Look and feel natural • Makes natural eyelashes look thicker, fuller and more dramatic

2.How do I choose the look I want?

Your technician will consult with you to understand which style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous!

3.What is the difference between Volume and Classic?

Classic lashes are applied one by one. Volume indicates a fan of multiple lashes applied on each natural lash. Volume lashes are perfect for women who have sparse lashes or want a thick glam look. Note: A fan of one Volume is more lightweight than one Classic lash which ensures comfortable wear.

4.How are eyelash extensions applied?

Our eyelash extensions are applied individually to your natural eyelashes using a medical-grade formaldehyde-free adhesive, leaving a tiny space away from your eyelid, and never touching your skin. We carry eyelash extensions in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls, so the results can vary from very subtle and natural to very noticeable and dramatic.

5.Will eyelash extensions make my eyelashes fall out?

No, if the eyelash extensions are applied correctly and you do not rub your eyes or tug at the extensions you will not lose your own lashes, but remember your natural lashes do shed every 30-120 days (according to proven studies) depending on their growth and shedding cycle. Our lash technicians are trained in properly applying and removing eyelash extensions.

6.How long do eyelash extensions last?

There are many factors that can affect eyelash extensions retention, such as aftercare, hair quality, weather, client’s activity, day-to-day routine, lifestyle, skin type, etc. Most of our clients’ lashes can last more than 3 to 4 weeks with good care.

7.What can I do to make my extensions last longer?

Do not get the extensions wet for the first 24-48 hours after your appointment. Do not use oil-based makeup or makeup removers or any other oil-based products. Keep out of any steam rooms, saunas, swimming pools to give the adhesive sufficient time to bond to the natural lash. Avoid rubbing your eyes or tugging your lashes. Constantly rubbing your eyes or cleaning them will certainly decrease their longevity.

8.Are eyelash extensions bad/ harmful?

No, eyelash extensions are not harmful. They are better than applying mascara.

9.What type of adhesive do you use for eyelash extensions?

Our lash technicians use medical-grade adhesive solely made for professional eyelash extensions. Our medical-grade adhesive is formaldehyde-free.

10.Does applying eyelash extensions hurt?

Eyelash extensions are painless. Most clients feel comfortable enough to fall asleep during the procedure. In rare cases, you may expect a small amount of discomfort if you open your eyes, so we recommend keeping your eyes closed throughout the procedure and not using your phone.

11.When do I have to get them refilled/retouched?

We recommend clients come in for refill every 2-3 weeks. Clients who prefer to maintain a very full look come in on a weekly basis.

12.How do you remove eyelash extensions?

We do not recommend removing the lash extensions by yourself as you may pull out your own lashes while doing so. It is better to schedule an appointment to have them professionally removed with a special removing solvent. You may also wait for your natural lash cycle to complete and have the extensions fall off naturally.

13.How long does the procedure take?

The procedure can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes depending on the service received.

14.Can I still wear makeup/mascara?

We do not recommend wearing mascara since it is very difficult to remove from the extensions without pulling at your natural eyelashes. Please use oil-free products when removing makeup close to the eye area while wearing eyelash extensions.

15.Can I wear contacts during the procedure?

You can wear contacts, but your eyes may feel dry or irritated with contact lenses kept in during lash application since your eyes must be kept closed for the entirety of the appointment.

16.Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, appointments are required as we cannot guarantee accommodation for walk-ins. Please schedule an appointment and honor your appointment time to avoid long waits and to ensure quality lash application.

17.What do I need to do before my appointment?

Please do not wear any eye makeup to your appointment, especially eyeliner and mascara. When removing makeup around the eyes, please use oil-free products and avoid using any moisturizers, sunscreen, and removers that have oil-based formulas. Lashes must be clean for the adhesive to bond properly.

18.Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?

We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 48 hours of wear. After that 48-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, keeping away from extensive contact with steam such as in saunas or certain facials is recommended since it can begin to loosen the bond. The adhesives are waterproof but the hair shafts absorb water which may loosen the adhesive bond.

19.My eyelash extensions were done at another salon. Can I still get them refilled/retouched with you?

We do not perform refill services on work that was not done at Mini Beauty Eyelash. This is to avoid the risk of mixing different adhesives and/or different materials, which may affect the results or cause bad reactions. We can help you remove your existing extensions and apply a new set.

20.Can I get an allergic reaction to the glue?

Very few people can develop an allergic reaction to the adhesive. In such a highly unlikely event, we would recommend scheduling an appointment to get your lashes removed as soon as possible. Please be advised that we do not cover doctor’s visits.

21.Can I use an eyelash curler to curl my lash extensions?

No, an eyelash curler will break the bond on your extensions and will damage your natural eyelashes.
